This week has
been a dry-free season in Bauchi where rainfall has been occurring unceasingly
which turns out to be a blessing to farmers but a bad day for the estate
constructors along Bauchi-Jos.
The construction
which started in the previous administration has been on hold but the present
Governor, Hon. Kaura Moh’d continued the project which has seen a lot of
progress so far.
Notwithstanding,
the project has seen the bad side of nature this week where rainstorms has
caused excessive damages worth millions.
The houses
completed are more than 500 and the rainstorm has destroyed more than half. Most
of the items destroyed are the roofs, the suckaways were flooded, the newly
constructed bricks were destroyed due to lack of dryness etc.
The constructors
were nonetheless good at their job as reconstructions were done swiftly despite
loss.
The construction
which has empowered the local youths at the surrounding communities whom were
part of the construction process which commences.
Community youths
like Dungal, Miri, Wuntindada and as far as Guru communities participated.
News received was that, the construction had no limit of workers needed as the order from the governor states that any youth that comes to help out, should be employed and paid per day. This is to make sure every youth gets home with something to carter with.
